UK’s Labour celebrate “fantastic victory”, but more work still needed – deputy leader
LONDON (Reuters) – Britain’s opposition Labour Party was not taking anything for granted after an historic win in a local election overnight, Deputy Labour Leader Angela Rayner said on Friday.
“Selby was a historic great result for us and we acknowledge that that was a fantastic victory, but we’re not taking anything for granted,” Rayner told BBC radio.
She said a separate result, where Labour failed to take a seat from the ruling Conservative Party, showed Labour still had more work to do.
